Summer is right around the corner, which means outdoor activities are starting to fill our days and summer plans are starting to fill our calendars. One particular summer attraction that comes to mind in the Myrtle Beach area – fireworks!

After a long day of play on the Grand Strand, there’s nothing quite like spending a few minutes treating your senses to a night sky filled with bright colors accentuated by a soundtrack of loud bangs. While a lot of people might associate fireworks solely with the fourth of July, that is not the case in our corner of the Carolina coast. Check out these prime destinations for regular summer fireworks on the Grand Strand – and find your perfect spot to soak in this rite of the South Carolina summer during your vacation!

With a wealth of shops, restaurants and entertainment options available for the whole family, Broadway at the Beach is one of the area’s top attractions among vacationers. Visitors say it’s one of the best places around town to go at any time of day – but when the sun goes down in the summer, this place gets even better. Starting the first week of June through Labor Day weekend, Broadway at the Beach lights up the sky most Tuesday and Friday nights at 10 p.m. with a spectacular display of fireworks, making this the ultimate destination for family fun! Check out their website for a complete list of dates and showtimes.

Barefoot Landing, another area shopping/entertainment complex, is also a great family destination that presents regular summer fireworks shows. Situated right on the Intracoastal Waterway, the North Myrtle Beach attraction features tons of places to shop, eat and play.  You can walk around Barefoot Landing’s 27-acre lake and along its fun-filled concourse during the day, then – as the sun goes down every Monday starting in early June and running through the end of August – find a great seat, because the spectacular fireworks show starts filling sky with bursts of color and sparkle at 9:30 p.m.! Looking for another fun way to spend an evening during your vacation catch yet another great fireworks show? Look no further than a night out at a Myrtle Beach Pelicans baseball game! One of the highest-rated venues to visit during your time in Myrtle Beach and a top 10 thing to do in the area according to TripAdvisor, visiting Pelicans Ballpark will definitely be one of the highlights of your summer trip. Grab a few hot dogs for the family, sit back, and cheer on the Class A Advanced affiliate of the Chicago Cubs for nine innings – then get ready for another show.  After every Saturday night home game of the season, they turn off the big stadium lights to set off a ton of fireworks for an end-of-game celebration, which is the perfect way to celebrate after great win and a great night at the ballpark!

With all of the places in and around Myrtle Beach lighting off fireworks this summer, it won’t be too hard to catch at least one spectacular, color-filled light show during your Grand Strand vacation! And the best way to complete one of these amazing nights is to head back to your comfortable accommodations at the Ocean Reef Resort – the perfect place to soak up the sights and sounds of summer on the Grand Strand.
