Heidi’s Corner - Grab a Meal That’s Good for Both You and the Earth

While exploring the Myrtle Beach area, it’s undeniable that you and your family may work up an appetite and will likely be searching for a great restaurant for a delicious midday meal. Seeing a number of your favorite chain restaurants on the Grand Strand, you may be tempted to have something you already know is good - but you’re on vacation, and you should try something you can’t get anywhere else. Well, you’re in luck, because we’ve got two great suggestions for you.

Croissants Bistro & Bakery is a favorite among Myrtle Beach locals for a quick bite to eat. Known for its delicious, fresh-made sandwiches and quick breakfast bites, the restaurant offers high-quality food at affordable prices. With a great location off Robert M. Grissom Parkway in the center of town, Croissants is a popular place to dine. But its owners found that they didn’t have quite enough space to accommodate all of their loyal customers, especially when facing the lunch and dinner rushes. To combat this problem, owner Heidi Vukov has opened up a second location on the North end of Myrtle Beach, right off of North King’s Highway - and the new location is just a mile from Ocean Reef Resort.

Called Heidi’s Corner, the second, larger location actually consists of two restaurants - Croissants, which serves up breakfast and lunch every day, and a new dinner restaurant called Hook & Barrel. The new Croissants features the same menu as the original location and focuses on the breakfast and lunch crowds. Hook & Barrel, which is open for happy hour and dinner, offers up a full bar, as well as a wide range of seating for parties both big and small. It serves larger entrees and plates that make it a great choice for fresh, healthy and local restaurant fare. It’s a great meal that you won’t be able to find anywhere else.

Along with the new location, Vukov has introduced a new, “greener” style of cooking and table service, as she believes that having an Earth-friendly kitchen and restaurant will benefit both current and future generations. When you visit, you will find that both eateries use biodegradable coffee cups and to-go boxes, and they have also upcycled a lot of their furniture and décor. But it’s in the kitchen where most of the “green” comes in. To reduce the restaurants’ carbon footprints, no gas will be used in their kitchens, and super high-tech equipment is being used to prepare all of the food.

Opened just few months ago, Heidi’s Corner is already earning rave reviews from a ton of old and new customers alike. Whether you’re looking for a full dinner or a quick breakfast or lunch, you’re sure to find something special at this new Myrtle Beach hot spot.
