Once you have taken in a fun day enjoying Ocean Reef’s Lagoon Launcher waterslide or drifting down the resort’s Lazy River, take the time to visit Market Common. Peruse the many recognizable shops, plus a few local favorites to satisfy your shopping needs. When the tummy starts grumbling, enjoy one of the complex’s 11 restaurants offering everything from American to Italian to Asian cuisine. Wander the sidewalks and enjoy the hometown scenery while you make your way to Valor Park to top the night off with a true rock concert or movie that is absolutely free.

On the third Thursday of June, as part of their Concerts on the Green free concert series, Market Common will present a classic rock show featuring America’s #1 Kiss tribute band, Kiss Army. Paying tribute to one of the most recognizable performance groups in history, the band members — with uncanny resemblances to Gene, Paul, Peter and Ace — will bring the house down with their kick-butt rock and roll. Come witness Kiss Army and see why they are called the “coolest band in the world”! Beer, wine, nonalcoholic refreshments and snacks are available for purchase. Please, no outside coolers or drinks allowed. Gather up all your family and friends, spread out your big blankets, put out your comfortable chairs, and get down to some good-time rock and roll. Everyone is gathering on the green at Valor Park to get their blood pumping June 16 from 7 to 10 p.m.

Come back the next night on June 17 and take in some prehistoric thrills as Market Common presents Jurassic World — for free — on a 30-by-40-foot screen in Valor Park. Feel the sounds of the raptors as they run through the forest. Partake in the chaos while the pterodactyls fly free. Don’t miss out on this chance to bring your family and converge under the Carolina stars, where you can pick out your favorite viewing spot, sit back in your seats and experience movie watching like never before.

You have given to your vacation, now let your vacation give back something to you. A free concert or movie may be exactly what hits the spot. Go to one or come to all — either way, it is guaranteed fun. By the way, did we mention it was free? What more could you want from your Myrtle Beach vacation?
