While staying at the Ocean Reef Resort in Myrtle Beach, there are so many fun things for the entire family to do. If you’re looking for something to do after the lifeguards leave and the water park gets old, head on down to Pelicans Ballpark and watch America’s favorite pastime, baseball! The Myrtle Beach Pelicans are the official Class A Advanced affiliate of the Chicago Cubs, are the reigning champions in the Carolina League, and are rated the third best attraction in Myrtle Beach on TripAdvisor.

Stadium Journey has ranked the stadium itself as the top stadium experience in the Carolina League for four consecutive years. Throughout the concourse at Pelicans Ballpark, you will find multiple concession stands, dessert carts, a pro shop, moon bounces, obstacle courses and a speed pitch machine, making it a perfect place to spend the evening with your entire family!

Many families have stated that this is one of the best family fun evenings available in Myrtle Beach. With such a great venue, great seats and the good ol’ American tradition of going to the ballpark, this is what family fun is all about. It is a must-do activity for vacationers.

The Pelicans play home games almost every other week, with almost every night featuring a different promotion. Depending on which night you decide to attend, the promotions can score you discounts on food, drinks or admission. On Backpack Buddy Mondays, if you donate a toy to local charity Backpack Buddies, you will receive half-price admission. For Craft Beer Tuesdays and Thirsty Thursdays, adults can enjoy a craft or domestic draft beer for up to $2 off the original price from 6 to 8 p.m. Weiner Wednesday brings buy one, get one free hot dogs, which is always a fan favorite. Saturday games tend to be the most highly attended, because every Saturday features a dazzling fireworks show after the game that is just spectacular to watch at any age!

Don’t worry if you can’t make a weekend game, though, as there are games scattered throughout the schedule that feature fun shows (along with free giveaways), so just look out for those. Sundays are family days at the ballpark, and fans are allowed to throw a ball around on the field for a bit before the game. Everyday promotions include children 12 and under running the bases after the game and a pre-game autograph session with the players (except Sundays).

To purchase tickets, you can go to the box office, visit the Pelicans’ website at myrtlebeachpelicans.com or call in to the stadium and reserve tickets. Buying before game day, serving our country or just being a local can result in discounted admission prices, too!

With all of the promotions and events on the schedule, a night of baseball with the family cheering on the home team will surely be a spectacular highlight of your stay at Ocean Reef Resort in Myrtle Beach.
