While on vacation at the Ocean Reef Resort in Myrtle Beach, you should enjoy every single moment. That means every meal — and it also means to splurge a little. Eat that hot dog you’ve been craving, and don’t skip dessert.

Of course you won’t want to waste that splurge on just any hot dog. Summertime and hot dogs are as American as apple pie, and Myrtle Beach has some of the best you will ever taste. We’ve made it easy for you with this listing of the top five hot dog spots along the Grand Strand. Enjoy!

Peaches Corner, 900 North Ocean Blvd. — Lots of things change in Myrtle Beach, but throughout the area’s history, a couple things that have long remained the same are the service and hot dogs you find at Peaches Corner. Both are incredible. Located beside the famous Myrtle Beach Boardwalk, this spot allows you to enjoy the scenery while you enjoy your meal. Peaches isn’t just a great spot on the beach, it has been a landmark of over 75 years! Oh, the stories these walls could tell. With that kind of history, you know they are doing it right! Try their footlong, and you won’t be disappointed. You may just be starting a new vacation tradition.

Sam’s Corner, 101 Atlantic Ave. — Another local's favorite and vacationer’s tradition is Sam’s Corner.  The restaurant is locally owned and has been raising our beach on its hot dogs since 1976. Sam’s is described as that “old fashioned soda shop dining experience.” This spot is a bit farther down Highway 17, taking you into Garden City, but we promise it’s well worth the scenic drive. Don’t stop at the hot dogs, though — you will want to add their famous chili cheese fries to that order. Delicious! It’s worth the calories, and you may just go back for seconds. They are that good.

St. Clements Beach Bar and Grill, 202 70th Ave. North — Located right on the beach, St. Clements will give you not only the perfect hot dog, but the perfect view. This tiny little beachside bar serves amazing hot dogs and burgers. It’s a place where you will find locals on any Saturday or Sunday afternoon in the summertime grabbing a beer and a hot dog while relaxing the day away with their toes in the sand. Nothing could be better. While you’re there, say hello to Luke the owner. Many vacationers return to see him every year, and of course enjoy his delicious hot dogs.

Burky’s Grill, 4001 North Kings Highway — Every town has “that place” — the place that everyone loves and finds their way to as a family. A place where the burgers, fries, hot dogs, salads and milkshakes are all sheer perfection, every time. Here at the beach, that was Ritzy’s. Well, Wayne Burkart, owner of Ritzy’s, retired only to thankfully reopen the same restaurant (by popular demand!), but this time by the name of Burky’s Grill. Locals and vacationers alike have been thankful for Wayne’s decision since reopening in 2003. Burky’s Grill is one of the best places on the beach for a hot dog, along with the thick and mouthwatering milkshakes. You won’t be disappointed in the service or the food, as both are exceptional. Be sure to look for Wayne while you’re there, and let him know you’re happy he decided retirement wasn’t for him!

River City Café, 208 73rd Ave. North — On the Boulevard at 73rd Avenue, you will find this laid-back piece of Heaven. River City Café has an atmosphere that just says, “Relax!” You will be able to toss your peanut shells on the floor without a care, and you will definitely enjoy the menu, which includes their famous hot dogs. With both indoor and outdoor seating, a family-friendly atmosphere and a close proximity to the ocean for that post-meal stroll, you cannot go wrong with a dog from River City Café.  (This is just one of their many locations on the beach!)

You now have five great options for satisfying that hot dog craving. The hardest part now will be deciding which one to pursue. They all have a distinct local’s vibe and are locally owned, making Myrtle Beach very proud. Remember to enjoy yourself, you’re on vacation at the Ocean Reef Resort!
