Attractions: Myrtle Beach doesn’t have a theater district like one might find New York, but the north end of Myrtle Beach is the closest thing. There’s you’ll find the famed Carolina Opry, home to the award-winning “Good Vibrations” and the self-titled show. Next door is the new Pirates Voyage, which recently replaced the Dixie Stampede. The show takes place on water as pirates perform high-diving acts and song and dance.
Golf: If you’re into chasing the little white ball, you’re in the right neighborhood. The Ocean Reef has packages for the more than 100 courses on the Grand Strand, but some of the best, like Pine Lakes, The Dunes Club and Grande Dunes, are within a long par-5 of the property. And if you want to work on your game between rounds, Cane Patch Par-3 Golf Course and Practice Range is well-lit and open late to hone your swing.
Dining: This neighborhood is home to some of the best restaurants on the Strand, including one just down the street known as Flamingo Grill. This upscale eatery offers fresh seafood, prime rib and their famous lobster chunks. Also within walking distance are Bonefish Grill, Carrabba’s and Collector’s Café. For more casual locales, try Outback, Fiesta Mexicana and Meathead Brothers Deli.
Nightlife: This quiet little neighborhood knows how to turn it up at night at such local hot spots as Hurricane Maggie’s and Liberty Tap Room, a craft-beer brewery and popular dining spot that becomes a hangout at night. Nearby Foster’s Café & Bar and Jimmigans provide after-hours fun and games. If you’re looking to dance, your best bet is a cab ride to Broadway at the Beach’s Celebrity Square.
