The Myrtle Beach Marathon is an annual tradition that attracts thousands of people from all over the country. The course is described as fast, flat and absolutely beautiful. Many runners use it as their qualifying race for the Boston Marathon.
In light of the pandemic, the 24th running of the Myrtle Beach Marathon will look a little different with new options to maintain health and safety of participants. Here’s what to expect for the 2021 event.

New Virtual 10k Option | For the 2021 event, the Myrtle Beach Marathon has added a 10k virtual race option. Participants can run anytime between Feb. 24 and March 5 to earn a Virtual 10k finisher medal and t-shirt delivered to your home. Runners can sign up to participate in both the virtual 10K and the in-person marathon, as well.
Virtual Family Fun Run | Participate virtually in the annual 1-mile Family Fun Run. Runners can complete their 1-mile run anytime between Feb. 24 and March 5 at any location. Finisher medals and race t-shirts will be shipped to your home.
Myrtle Beach Marathon | Runners will compete in person in the annual Myrtle Beach Marathon on March 6, 2021. Wave times are TBA. All participants will receive their race bib in the mail before race day. T-shirt, finisher medal and finisher gift will be picked up at the finish line.
Worry-Free Registration | In the case of a cancellation of the 2021 race, all participants will have the option for a full refund or transfer to the virtual race.
