5 Must-Do Activities in Myrtle Beach This Spring

Myrtle Beach: The place you can do it all, or nothing at all.

With all the attractions, stellar restaurants, and miles of beaches, it’s so true. You can spend a weekend without leaving your accommodations at Ocean Reef Resort.

But there’s so much fun to be had off-site, too.

We’ve narrowed the list down to five, in five categories. These are favorites and are sure to lead you to other incredible places and experiences. As the weather warms, the possibilities open up in Myrtle Beach, too.

For Families: A Day at Wild Water and Wheels

The kids are going to love this place. Head to Surfside Beach for sliding, swimming, and racing. Speed down awesome slides and even cliff dive. With lively music, a wave pool, and Go-Kart racing, you can spend an entire day here.

After dinner, return to Ocean Reef Resort for life-sized chess, volleyball, or cornhole.

Wild Water and Wheels

For Couples: A Date at Market Common

One site, lots of possibilities for fun and romance. Take your special someone to Random for casual boutique shopping. Stop and have breakfast for dinner (or steak) at Crepe Creation Cafe. Have a stroll in the village and end with games at 810 Billiards & Bowling.

Wind up the evening back at Ocean Reef Resort, with drinks at the Banana Boat Lounge.

For Adults: Sailboat Lessons with Downwind Motorsports

Beginners or experienced seafarers can zip through ocean waters in a sailboat! Rent a 14-foot Hobie Wave or 16-foot Hobie Getaway sailboat. A one-hour session includes a 30-minute lesson from a pro (if you need it), then 30 minutes of sailing on your own.

Chill for the evening at the Ocean Reef Resort in a lounge chair on the outdoor pool deck.

For Toddlers: Ripley’s Aquarium

Take the little tykes where the other waddlers are: Ripley’s Aquarium! They’ll love to come face-to-face with African penguins in this incredible exhibit. The expanded Ocean Wonders tanks feature ocean life from all over the world. It’s sure to start little minds wondering.

Also, check out the kiddie pools at Shipwreck Water Park at Ocean Reef Resort for the little pirates in your party.

Ripleys Aquarium

For seniors: Magic Show with Michael Bairefoot

Michael’s comedy and magic are suitable for all ages, actually. But if you’re having a group or couple’s outing in Myrtle Beach, come get some laughs and a few drinks together. Michael likes to get the audience involved in the act at GTS Theatre.

Enjoy a game of shuffleboard or a warm evening poolside together.
