7 Toddler-Friendly Attractions on the Grand Strand

Hit the Beach

Ripley’s Aquarium
Another Broadway at the Beach attraction, Ripley’s Aquarium offers sea-life-curious toddlers a peek into the ocean deep — no watercraft, life jacket or dive gear required. Fun exhibits and areas to explore here include a 750,000-gallon shark tank, the Penguin Playhouse, Planet Jellies, Ray Bay, the Mermaids Photo Cove, the Tropical Rainforest and many more.
Family Kingdom
Amusement park Family Kingdom is known for its high-speed thrill rides like the Swamp Fox roller coaster and the Log Flume eater ride — but it’s also home to a range of easy-going kiddie rides that are perfect for toddlers. Highlights here include the Balloon Fiesta Ferris wheel, the Frog Hopper bouncy ride, the Kiddie Coaster and the Kiddie Speedway.
Savannah’s Playground
Savannah’s Playground, found at Myrtle Beach shopping/dining/entertainment complex The Market Common, is an award-winning free park designed for children of all ages and abilities. With soft, spongy ground surfaces for safety, the playground is divided into multiple areas for children of different ages and interests, including an early childhood playground, a school-age playground, an interactive playground, the Harmony Park musical play area and more. Some of the toddler-friendly attractions at the playground include slides, climbing structures, sit-and-spin rides and swing sets.
Brookgreen Gardens
Found in Murrells Inlet on the South Strand, Brookgreen Gardens is home to an expansive collection of sculpture gardens that feature 2,000-plus artworks by more than 400 artists. The 9,100-acre property is also home to a range of other attractions, including some especially toddler-friendly ones like the Lowcountry Zoo and the Whispering Wings Butterfly Experience.
